All seven mechanisms of your natural defence have to be healthy and working properly together.15023 - SystemWell Ultimate Immunity

From your outer skin to the tiniest of individual cells, immunity is the interaction between many different systems.

The following is a quick guide to each of the seven aspects of immunity along with supportive ingredients (in italics) included in the Ultimate Immunity supplement.

Epidermal:

Our skin is our first-line of defense with its naturally acidic surface that helps prevent microorganisms from attaching, penetrating and causing infection. Aloe Vera, Beta Carotene, Gotu Kola and Vitamin C supports the skin and this outer shield.

Respiratory:

Mucous membranes lining the nose, throat and lungs help trap and expel harmful microorganisms. Elacampane, Fenugreek, Horehound, Thyme and Vitamin C support the mucous membranes and respiratory health.

Digestive:

Intestinal flora prevents unwelcome invaders from colonising in the gastro-intestinal tract. Arabinogalactan, FOS, lactobacillus, bifidobacterium all help promote and maintain a healthy gut. Goldenseal root and Oregon Grape stimulate production of bile salts that aid digestion.

Systemic:

The body naturally produces white blood cells, macrophages, neutrophils and natural killer cells to battle any infection. Astragalus, Echinacea, Myrrh, Olive Leaf, Vitamin C, Vitamin D and zinc support healthier systemic immunity.

Circulatory:

Increased blood flow accelerates the transport of immune cells to the affected area of inflammation and infection where they can release enzymes to attack invaders. Cayenne, Cordyceps, Garlic, Ginkgo and Selenium are powerful cardio antioxidants that are also essential for building glutathione – the body’s most potent immune cell protector.

Cellular:

Individual cells release powerful chemicals called cytokines to defend against invaders. Arabinogalactan, IP-6 and medicinal mushrooms including Maitake, Reishi, Shiitake and Yamabushitake and many of these provide beta glucans that increase cellular immune response.

Lymphatic:

Microbial invaders are transported to lymph nodes where lymphocytes (kller T-cells and B-cells) identify, attack and dispose of infections. Gugulip, ids, Mullein, Plantain, Siberian Eleuthero and Vitamin A are all supportive. When engaged, the lymphatic system consumes a tremendous amount of energy. This is why you may feel fatigued when under immune stress. Gugulipids and Siberian Eleuthero support the thyroid and adrenal glands that provide optimum immune energy during recovery.
